Conducted research and cataloging for an upcoming exhibit of the work of influential Pittsburgh design firm Peter Muller-Munk Associates

- Industrial Designer, Robot250 Project, CMU Robotics Institute, Summer 2007/2008
Worked to design the "Canary", a DIY environmental sensing device with physical control outputs. Helped conduct robotic art workshops around Pittsburgh.

- Interaction Designer, Firefly Sensor Networks, Fall 2007
Designed a multi-purpose ID badge/USB device which connects to a wireless infrastructure of environmental sensors.

- Woodworking Assistant, Arimoto Design+Woodworking, Summer/Fall 2006
Volunteered under Japanese woodworker Tadao Arimoto, co-designing, fabricating and finishing hand-made furniture.


RECOGNITION:

- Semi-finalist, CHI Student Design Competition 2008
Conducted on-site research and designed a public space intended to assist homeless urban citizens. Defended the design to a panel of judges in Florence, Italy

- Eagle Scout, Boy Scouts of America
Awarded the BSA's highest rank, after completing a 100 man-hour service project
